Need a healthy Green Juice (that actually tastes amazing)? Look no further! This combination of fruits and veggies will make this Green Juice a drink that you crave. It’s even one of my favorite drinks! So so delicious for breakfast with Carrot Cake Oatmeal or Bacon Egg Cups!
Green Juice | My Forever Fave
This Green Juice recipe is my very favorite juice concoction my husband makes. He’s always throwing different fruit and veggies combinations together, but this is the one I crave. I actually craved this all the time when I was pregnant. It’s honestly just a light and mellow drink. Nothing too strong or overpowering. Too much cucumber makes me want to hurl. And too much beet or carrot… EW. But this one is *pure perfection* and I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Main Ingredients Needed
Four fruits and two vegetables make this Green Juice the bomb dot com. Chock full of essential vitamins and minerals but still tasty enough that my kids will drink it. Don’t believe me? See the photos below!
- Apple – a sweet fuji apple. This contains lots of Vitamin C and B-6.
- Cucumber – cucumbers are mostly water but still provide mild flavor along with Vitamin K and Magnesium.
- Grapefruit – ruby red grapefruit is less acidic than pink grapefruit and provide more natural sweetness.
- Lemon – I find that with so many citrusy fruits the lemon can be optional.
- Orange – navel oranges which of course are sweet and full of Vitamin C.
- Spinach – this is what makes this juice, green! Don’t be afraid, trust the Lauren.
Green Juice Variations
Like I said before, Gordon loves to switch and swap which fruits and veggies he uses for this recipe. You are also free to do so! Just be sure to keep the spinach in there to keep Green Juice, green. Here are a few ideas:
- carrots
- kale
- celery
- ginger
- pears
- berries
- mango
- pineapple
How to Make Green Juice
There’s not much to making Green Juice, especially if you have a juicer! Simply prep your fruits and veggies then juice away. For full details, see the recipe card down below.
Step 1: Get Yourself a Juicer
Start with your juicer set up and ready to go. We use the Breville 900-watt Juice Fountain Juicer….no this is not a paid post. We really like our juicer though. It works amazingly well.
Some people told us before we got a juicer that it was super annoying to clean. That’s sort of true because there are a lot of parts to wash, but the plastic bag to collect the seeds, skin, and pulp makes cleanup 10 times easier! And, if you have a sink of warm soapy water ready and waiting, it really takes 5 minutes or less to get everything washed.
Step 2: Prep the Ingredients
Once your juicer is all set up and ready to go, get all the fruits and veggies prepped. We peel our oranges, grapefruits, and cucumbers. We also wash our apples really well with a special produce soap I get at Trader Joe’s.
Some readers have pointed out that apple seeds in large quantities can be toxic. If you are worried about this, simply cut them out before juicing.
Step 3: Juice
Once you have all that, we’re ready to make our juice! Brooke loves to help make juice. Start on low speed with the spinach. Next is the cucumber.
Then the citrus. And last is the apples.
Stir the finished product altogether and pour it into some glasses. I love adding ice to my juice. Cold juice is PRIME.
What If I Don’t Have a Juicer?
If you don’t have a juicer and would like to try making this Green Juice recipe in a blender, blend at your own risk! The texture is going to be different from using a juicer. This is because a juicer gets rid of most of the pulp, skin and seeds leaving you with a super smooth drink. I’m not saying you can’t, but I think you’ll get a better finished product with a juicer versus a blender.
