COOKING CARROTS IN AIR FRYER

To get started with this recipe, you’ll need an air fryer. I have to admit I was late to the air fryer game but now I’m in love!

If you don’t have one, there are a ton available to meet your family’s needs. Whether you’re looking for an affordable model or maybe you need a larger size for your larger family, there are SO many air fryers out there!

One thing I prefer in my air fryer is that it has a basket. I have one with a basket and one with a tray. I still prefer the basket but you can make this recipe with any type of air fryer!

Once you’ve got an air fryer you’ll need some simple ingredients. Check your pantry for the spices. You probably have most of them!

  • Whole carrots
  • Olive oil
  • Minced garlic or garlic powder
  • Paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Grated parmesan cheese
  • Parsley flakes

I recommend using shredded parmesan so you can get that great melt over the vegetables.

CAN YOU COOK FROZEN CARROTS IN THE AIR FRYER?

Yes! You can definitely cook frozen carrots in the air fryer. You can also use this recipe to turn them into parmesan roasted carrots! While I prefer using fresh carrots when I ary fry carrots, for convenience, you can use a 1 pound bag of frozen carrots.

Typically you don’t need to add oil when cooking frozen carrots in the air fryer. Just be sure that you don’t crowd them. They need space between them for the air to circulate. You may not need to cook them as long. Cook them at 360°F for 17-20 minutes or until desired tenderness.

HOW TO MAKE PARMESAN AIR FRYER CARROTS

The first step in this recipe is to prep your carrots. Wash and peel them. I prefer to use a Y-Shaped Peeler because it’s easier to use! Then cut the carrots into chunks that are similar in size. You can also make this recipe using baby carrots which will save you some time when it comes to peeling and chopping.

Then you’ll toss the carrots with olive oil and seasoning before putting them in the air fryer.

Place the carrots in the air fryer basket and cook at 360°F for 20 minutes. Shake the basket halfway through the cooking time.

Once the carrots reach the desired tenderness, top them with salt and pepper. Shake to season. Then add parmesan cheese and allow to melt. Top with parsley flakes, if desired.

Then enjoy them with your favorite main dish!

REHEATING LEFTOVERS IN AN AIR FRYER

Although we rarely have leftovers, if you do have them, the air fryer is a great way to reheat!

Place the leftover carrots in the air fryer basket and heat at 350-370°F for 4-6 minutes. Shake the basket halfway through the cooking time.
