Very poignant article in today's Times2 from one of my oldest (primary) school friends - we grew up together. Beautifully written, moving and brave. Tessa has a clever way with words - she runs a communication agency and the article highlights the fact that many people are going through something you might know nothing about, but that people just carry on with an inner strength. Be kind. Tessa's wish is to help others by telling her story. She has handled everything with grace and dignity...and amazing sunglasses.

Kingston Riverside provided the perfect setting for the Kingston Chamber of Commerce 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗟𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵 today. In partnership with and hosted at Hache Moderne Brasserie, this WIB event was the perfect opportunity to catch up with our vibrant business community. Today I was accompanied by Lucinda Austin who joined us as part of her work experience and had the delight of connecting with Sandra Porter (FCIPD) , ANNIE ARMITAGE , melanie Burgess , Claire Harrison, Alex Hughes among others! I was invited to interview Monica Bradley and we had a lively discussion about delegating, ambition and professionalism. Monica provided us with a wealth of empowering tips and encouragement, reminding us to “never ever underestimate overserves". She also shared valuable advice on hiring and mentoring, emphasising the importance of hiring individuals who share the same values and work ethic, and stressed the need to understand what potential employees truly want.Thank you to everyone for welcoming Lucinda so warmly. Thank you to Ilona Saliev for organising yet another fabulous event - I have made so many fantastic connections and friends! Evans Hart Ltd

A huge thank you to my old colleagues at Dimensional Fund Advisors for educating and hosting the team Evans Hart Ltd recently at a conference. A delight to see so many friendly faces. Simon Johnson reminded us all about the importance of investment principles and investment philosophy, Mark Butterworth illustrated trading expertly with his hand drawn trading triangle, Blair Anderson gave us food for thought with insights from the Global Adviser study and Joshua Hunt gave us a whistle stop tour of all the resources available to advisers. All expertly facilitated by Steven Greenfield. It was lovely for me to personally catch up with old friends, hear about new adventures and be reassured that the message is still the same. I also enjoyed playing Dimensional bingo (on my own) reminding myself of all the great marketing messages! Thanks to all involved, and also to Paul Catt-Camfield, Bethany Peck and Derek W.. It was a good refresher for those who are now part of the Evans Hart Ltd family.

So delighted to be able to support Kingston Charitable Foundation - and in this instance we facilitated a breakfast event! Hicky Kingsbury’s touching words of thanks are very heartfelt “Thank you so much Katie (Catherine) Lovatt for the care you took organising our event, sponsored and hosted by , part of the Evans Hart Ltd family. So many of our favourite people all in one room.I started my event presentation with 'Good Morning Beautiful People' and meant it, what a start to the day.”Here's the KCF Impact Report 2023, just published today; it celebrates so much of the incredible work local charities, funded by our Kingston Charitable Foundation grants have delivered, here in our shared community in Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames. Hope you like it:https://lnkd.in/eHDZmCZMHicky added “Huge thank you to our talented team for their work on our report - to Justine Belcher for her incredible research work and to our design wizard, Shelley Heath. I could not love you both more for this!”It’s events like this which bring our community together! Great to see Katerina D. ahead of her wedding (leaving Rick Brookman in charge!) and to meet Nikki Earthrowl in person!

What else to do today but attend the Future of Work Summit at Kingston University with Kingston Chamber of Commerce . are proud sponsors of this event, introducing our parent company, Evans Hart Ltd to the community and also networking with lots of interesting and diverse businesses.Great to also support Kingston Charitable Foundation and encourage their work.Thoroughly enjoyed the panel discussion expertly facilitated by Sandra Porter (FCIPD) on Leadership. This was extremely thought provoking as a topic - considering human leadership and emotional intelligence as vital concepts to motivate a team.Vision, influence and communication are all key, but it is crucial to be your authentic self, to show vulnerability (you don’t need and can’t have all the answers) and to be able to embrace flexibility. The world of work is changing, and education is more than words and numbers. Social skills, emotions and culture need to come together to ignite passion. Leadership doesn’t have to be lonely but you need to create a network. Leaders support leaders and people need people. And finally as a leader you need to demonstrate the behaviours you want to see in others.Fabulous Friday wisdom. Thanks Forbes Low, Robyn Shooter and Ilona Saliev for a organising yet another great event. Now off to discuss the role of value and culture in our community.
