Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! I'm editing this OP and pinning it to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.

Since Thor and now Captain America came out this year, I wanted to get what Tropers thought of the concept and execution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in general. Personally I love the idea and wonder why this idea hasn't been seriously tried before. It sorta seems to me like the DCAU in movie form (And well, ummm, with Marvel), and really 'gets' the comic book feel of a shared universe while not being completely alienating.

Do we think the inevitable Alien Romulus themed facehugger popcorn bucket will pair well with the Wolverine bucket?

Kinda funny Wasp's lact act in the MCU was seemingly defeating Kang for good.

I mean, Hope Van Dyne is now a CEO and Scott is semi-retired with his daughter pretty much becoming the real successor to Ant-Man. And really, the whole Ant-Man 3 always felt like a Grand Finale for Ant-Man with Kang just being set up for an Avengers movie later down the line.

It's probably going to just be Cassie repping the Ants in future stuff.

If we don't get Ant-Man films anymore, Cassie joining the ensemble films is the logical step next.

A trope question here...
In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 we see the funeral service for Yondu, and in the last take, we see Rocket Raccoon crying...
Some years later, in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, in the first take we see Rocket Raccoon crying while hearing "Creep".
Does that qualifies as some sort of Bookend or Continuity Nod ?..

Well, a Book Ends is about something at the beginning of a franchise/series being reflected in the very end of a franchise/series. I don't know if it counts between a second and third instalment.
