Pizza Hut Cookie Dough

Welcome to my Pizza Hut Cookie Dough recipe.

I admit to being addicted to trips to Pizza Hut. The lure of the pizza, the sides and of course the pizza hut desserts has me there all the time.

I prefer going to the Pizza Hut in Portugal though as unlike with England they have a lot more olive oil in their dishes and we always end up sat there in silence while we all eat it up.

Though we tend to be rather boring when we visit Pizza Hut. A family pizza with a stuffed crust, a salad and then a cookie dough skillet to share. Always the same food every time we go to Pizza Hut but also the food we LOVE.

My mum was the person that originally introduced me to Pizza Hut and on a shopping trip to York we would end up at Pizza Hut for dinner.

My mum was always on a diet so rarely did she have more than one slice so it meant I would have as much as I could manage and then the rest would be taken home ready for supper.

But in those days (which were the 90s) people didn’t have everything to excess so you would have a cheese stuffed crust and then a drink.

There would be no excessive side orders and absolutely no pizza hut hot cookie dough dessert.

Imagine if I could have enjoyed a pizza hut hot cookie dough to myself!!! Now that would have been amazing, should have been a 00’s baby!

What Is Pizza Hut Cookie Dough?

In case you missed Pizza Hut’s BEST dessert of the last decade or so, then let me fill you in. A Pizza Hut Cookie Dough is essentially a giant cookie that Pizza Hut sells that is almost cooked. It is often referred to as cookie dough pizza, a pizookie, hot cookie dough, or pizza hut cookie pie.

They load some cookie dough into a skillet and almost cook it so that you have a soft, hot cookie dough experience.

It tastes amazing and I often look forward to this more than the pizza when I go to Pizza Hut.

Does Pizza Hut Dough Have Eggs?

You will be pleased to know you can make an eggless pizza hut cookie dough. You see when you make chocolate chip cookies, in the United States they are always made with eggs. While cookie dough in the UK is always made without. The cookie dough recipe is very similar, and I never miss the eggs.

Though in the US they have adopted our British cookie dough recipe and call it edible cookie dough now, because it can be eaten raw.

Perfect if you have an egg allergy.

Or even better with the cookie dough not been cooked through, as there is no risk of raw eggs.

Pizza Hut Cookie Dough Ingredients

If you want to make cookie dough like Pizza Hut, you will need a few simple Pizza Hut cookie dough ingredients.

There is nothing difficult to source and the same ingredients you would use in a regular batch of our air fryer chocolate chip cookies.

Pizza Hut cookie dough ingredients include:

  • Self Raising Flour
  • Coconut Sugar
  • Brown Sugar
  • Butter
  • Honey
  • Whole Milk
  • Cocoa Powder
  • Vanilla Essence
  • Chocolate Chips

Though I do love to swap chocolate chips for crushed chocolate. Simply grab some chocolate and leave it on the side until it hits room temperature. Then use a vegetable knife and slice and dice like you are chopping carrots. It gives a much better flavour than chocolate chips which can be rather boring.

How To Make Hot Cookie Dough At Home?

Recipe This | Air Fryer Pizza Hut Cookie Dough (4)

Air fryer hot cookie dough goes as follows:

  1. Make cookie batter
  2. Grease a pizza pan that fits in your air fryer
  3. Load it up with cookie dough
  4. Load the pizza pan into your air fryer basket
  5. Air Fry + Serve.

There is a little more to it than that, but those are the simple basics!

Can You Reheat Pizza Hut Cookie Dough?

Yes you can and I reheat cookie dough all the time in my air fryer. You see when you cook hot cookie dough, if it goes cold, then the filling is not as gooey, and it can go a little hard. Reheat it in the air fryer and its as good as new.

Though you might want some extra cream and chocolate sauce!

How To Reheat Pizza Hut Cookie Dough?

To reheat Pizza Hut cookie dough load your pizza pan back into the air fryer. Then cook at 120c/250f for 6 minutes. Cooking it on low like this stops the cookie dough from cooking and just gives it a light reheat.

If it is not hot enough add an extra 3 minutes.

  • Add in your favourite chocolate. Any chocolate chunks or chips will do the trick and mix. I also added in some smarties too.

  • Spray your pizza cake pan with extra virgin olive oil and then add flour and tap the sides and bottom with flour. This will stop your hot cookie dough from sticking to the pizza pan.

Notes

Swap. I used Dairy Milk in this recipe, but you can swap with your favourite chocolate. Or go down the traditional route and add in chocolate chips.

Smarties. I also added in Smartie cookies which you would get in a Monster Cookie. A great alternative and adds in some colour. But you don’t have to add Smarties if you don’t want to. You can also cook your cookie dough for a further 3 minutes and it will become a giant monster cookie.

Crushed. By crushed chocolate I am talking about chocolate that you have chopped up, or alternatively you can use chocolate chips.
