When a new game comes out, everyone wants to figure out which characters will be able to give them the edge, especially if there's a competitive component. You may be wondering which characters are the best ones to put your time and effort into. Fortunately, our list will tell you which ones manage to stand out above the surprisingly large cast of characters.
10 Poison
Poison is a great character for most teams, , but the fact that the pink-haired menace is best situationally keeps her from the very top of the list. The tech and attack combination lets Poison jump into any fight and dish out serious punishment.
The only major drawback of Poison is that the passive Toxic Glamor is really only incredibly effective once it is fully leveled up. Initially, the passive only impacts a damage boost done to men, but eventually, the boost includes pressure against female fighters as well.
9 Mad Ryu
Luckily, it’s possible to get one of the best characters quite early on for everyone hopping into the game. Mad Ryu may seem like a simple character on the surface, and truly he is, but with that simplicity comes absolutely massive damage potential.
His Enraged Heart passive means he’ll continue unleashing strong attacks automatically as the fight goes on. However, it’s his crushingly powerful Crazy Shoryuken in the final position of your super combo that will lead to Mad Ryu ripping through fighters on his own.
8 Combat Guile
A lot of people might have a hard time dealing with ordinary Guile, but Combat Guile manages to put his original form to shame. One of the biggest draws of Guile is that his area of effect super Saber Bow is capable of unleashing massive damage while also getting rid of enemy buffs.

Combat Guile’s attacks revolve around the shock debuff, and many of his supers will deal additional damage the more he attacks those inflicted with it. His Guerilla Bow is also excellent considering he gains super armor while using the move, meaning he’s near impossible to interrupt.
7 Chun-Li
No one should underestimate Chun-Li. She’s incredibly fast and hits way harder than she probably has any right to. Most people will probably have experienced getting completely whipped by a team with a strong Chun-Li in the anchor position.
All of her kicks are able to dish out immense damage, but her area of effect super Kikosho will probably melt most of your enemy’s health bars. Even better, if she beats an enemy with the move, your team's super gauge can get a massive boost.
6 Dhalsim
There are a lot of reasons to love Dhalsim, and yet he’s still an underrated character. One of the biggest reasons to add him to your team is thanks to his Fire Carpet that comes from his Yoga Catastrophe super move, and the general flame damage many of his moves bring.
Even while Dhalsim isn’t actively attacking, he’ll be able to continue to damage the enemy team. Instead of just bashing the fighter in the first position, Dhalsim is capable of delivering continuous damage to an entire team all by himself.
5 Cammy
Much like Chun-Li, Cammy is a strong pick for any team simply because it’s hard for any fighter to land an attack before she can in the opening seconds of a fight. As you’ll already know, this provides a massive bonus in filling your super combo gauge.
Cammy is a fantastic set-up character, and outside of getting quick hits, she is also able to hit hard and cripple enemy defenses while doing so. Paired with a strong line of attackers, Cammy will help a lot of teams see victory without losing a fighter.
4 Rose
A lot of players may struggle to add Rose to their team, but they’ll already know how difficult she can be to deal with. While she can dish out plenty of damage in her own right, she is most valuable for her Soul Fortune passive ability.
The stronger Rose is, the more she’ll be able to bring on the heals like a JRPG white mage after a massive super combo. Being able to keep her healthy continuously while crippling the enemy team makes Rose a character that many players will try to get.
3 Juri
If you’re looking for an incredible assassin-class fighter, Juri might be the one for you. One of the biggest draws is that she gets a massive boost to her stats the more dire your situation is. Already a heavy hitter, Juri just continues to get better the longer a fight goes.

Juri is such a good unit to have on your team that she is capable of clutching a fight that looked as if it was a sure loss. Her ability to gain a 25 percent crit boost upon a fighter's death is an effect that continues to stack.
2 Gen
He may look old, but no one should count out the destruction that Gen can bring to an opposing team. Another skilled assassin, Gen is able to rip through health bars and is aided by a unique mirror image that aids the team.
Thanks to Gen, you can continuously have four fighters on the ground to dish out damage. Even better, Gen’s mirror image is able to contribute to your super combo gauge build-up. His super can be brutally powerful, but pairing Gen with someone capable of a significant single-target damage attack in the third combo position makes for a deadly combination.
1 M. Bison
At least for now, it seems like M. Bison is an unstoppable force in Street Fighter: Duel. The iconic villain has no problem flexing his psycho power to absolute brute force through entire teams by himself.
A high-level M. Bison will tear through any fighter’s health bars thanks to his hard-hitting combo moves, and his position in said super combo will only make him all the more deadly. Being a member of the Infernal faction, he might throw off your team dynamic slightly, but the level of destruction you’ll be benefitting from is worth it.
