What if The Walt Disney Company never bought 21st Century Fox in 2019? (2024)

On July 27, 2018, 21st Century Fox shareholders agreed to sell the company to Disney for $71.3 billion. The sale covered the majority of 21CF's entertainment assets, including 20th Century Fox, FX Networks, and National Geographic Partners among others. Following a bidding war with 21CF, Sky plc (a British media group which 21CF held a stake in) was acquired separately by Comcast, while 21CF's regional Fox Sports Networks were sold to Sinclair Broadcast Group to comply with antitrust rulings. The remainder, consisting primarily of the Fox and MyNetworkTV networks, and 21CF's local station, news and national sports assets, were spun out into a new company named Fox Corporation, which began trading on March 19, 2019. Disney's acquisition of 21st Century Fox was closed on March 20 of the same year. After that, all of the included 21CF assets were scattered across the divisions of Disney. But what if The Walt Disney Company never bought 21st Century Fox in 2019?

Here's what might have happened.

This theory is interconnected to What if Paramount kept the rights to the Harvey characters after 1958?

The most important items in each stage are Jolly Farm Revue-brand souvenirs. There is one in every stage, and Brian and Stewie must find them all in order to get the best ending (as well as unlocking a bonus Hollywood level). The other Griffins also appear to give hints on where the souvenirs are. There are also several mini-games in each area, with puzzles such as a matching-card game and a trivia game based on events in actual episodes (from the first three seasons only).

      • Treehouse of Horror attempts to tell more original stories again instead of countless horror movie and TV shows spoofs.
        • Kang and Kodos would have larger roles rather than just reduced to cameos depending of the plot.

        • Considering Flanders never married Edna since Maude is still alive, the 4th grade teacher's role is assumed by Principal Skinner instead after her death.
      • The Simpsons would air a Y2K centric episode in December 1999, meaning the Life's a Glitch, Then You Die segment of Treehouse of Horror X wouldn't exist.
      • Although Homer vs. Dignity was kept, the episode was slightly rewritten to not be completely sad*stic towards Homer.
      • The infamous Family Guy crossover episode still happened, although as a The Simpsons episode, keeping the characters loyal to how are they're portrayed at the series and [likely keeping tamer Stewie, but making Peter how he was before becoming a retard and Brian more of the voice of the reason]

      • There would be more scenes of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie escaping from Springfield in The Simpsons Movie, including a scene where they go into a museum and Bart gets trapped in a coffin, and the family is getting chased by cops and Homer throws flaming mummies from the same museum.
      • A stage musical adaptation of The Simpsons Movie called The Simpsons Musical would open on Broadway on at the John Golden Theatre on October 11, 2009.

      • New characters will be introduced, yet, like the old ones, they will mainly be used for comedy. Those would include:
        • Kitrina Davis, a beautiful and vain teenage girl who is part of an clique where people are TBD and becomes enamored with Bart, even if he's three years younger, as she tries to keep him as her "Barty-Warty" forever, even if he doesn't want to be with her. Voiced by Nancy Cartwright.

      • Any image where a character shows an uncovered body part (arms, legs, etc.) is censored, the frames being edited, or only cutting the scenes.
        • The most noticeable example is that of Leela. The character, recognized by her sleeveless white shirt, in the original version usually always has her arms uncovered. In the dub, blue sleeves are drawn in every frame that is possible (painting her arms blue), so that she looks like she is wearing a kind of blue neck polo shirt. If Leela appears in the scene, and it is difficult to edit, it is likely that the scene will be replaced by some overlapping scene.

      • The shock humor is toned down while the incest jokes and animal abuse are taken off.
      • Rogu would debut in Season 7.
      • Jeff wouldn't get sent to space meaning the Season 8 episodes Naked to the Limit, One More Time, The Missing Kink, and Lost in Space, the Season 9 episode The Longest Distance Relationship, and the Season 10 episode Holy sh*t, Jeff's Back! wouldn't exist.
