Wisconsin worst in nation in fatal crashes involving wrong-way drivers

A 37-year-old Beaver Dam man was taken by a medical helicopter to University Hospital in Madison with life-threatening injuries following a Sunday morning motorcycle crash in Dodge County, authorities reported.
Deputies from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office dispatched to Owl Road in the town of Calamus for a motorcycle crash around 1:15 a.m. Sunday performed life-saving measures, Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt said in a statement.
The man was taken by ambulance to Marshfield Medical Center in Beaver Dam, then flown to University Hospital in Madison by medical helicopter with life-threatening injuries.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, Schmidt said.
Assisting the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office was the Beaver Dam Fire Department.
