informative resume of the Horicon Boys Baseball League He began his story with the inception in 1960 when 75 boys between the ages of 10 and 13 reported for this summer recreational venture In 1961 the baseball program chairman grew to such proportions that thirty five adults were recruit ed to administer and supervise 115 boys now divided into a junior and senior division brack et of 9 10 year olds and 13 15 year olds respectively In the following year of '62 the City Council provided some much needed money a number of Horicon businessmen donated uniforms and the group joined the United und as the league was a thriving activity destined to be continued This past summer 200 boys and 50 adults participated and the league was incorporated for protective reasons This Horicon baseball story is strictly a Hori con venture and not identified with either Babe Ruth or Little League but it does include one team for boys above the age of 15 which is sponsored and finan ced by the American Legion Problems Vanish Bischoff commented that an interesting sidelight on the im portance of this recreational program was that the local po lice department had remarked that when the baseball 'season began boys prankish nui sance problems Rotarians had among the guest list at their Monday dinner two Latin American neighbors Mrs Carmen Darley Larmanac Do minican Republic and Mr Ru ben Cisneros Caracas Venezue la These visitors are here to observe and absorb our educa tional methods and administra tion for a three week period Based at the University of Wis consin Milwaukee Mrs
